Association Rules
MEOPHAM GARDEN ASSOCIATION RULES
1. Title
The Association shall be known as the Meopham Garden Association.
2. Objective
The objective of the Association shall be to promote interest in all horticultural
matters by meetings, talks, shows and such other activities as members shall
approve.
3. Membership
Membership shall be subject to acceptance by the Committee.
4. Subscription
The annual subscription shall be determined by the Committee and shall be
payable in advance at the 1st meeting in February each year. Any member whose
subscription is outstanding on March 31st shall cease to be a member of the
Association.
5. Officers
The Officers shall be: President; Vice President; Chairperson; Secretary;
Treasurer; (these two officers, Treasurer and Secretary can be associated); Show
Secretary; Assistant Show Secretary; Programme Secretary; Publicity Secretary;
all of whom shall be ex-officio members of the committee.
The following elected Officers (Chairperson, Secretary & Treasurer): A two- year
rule shall apply to these offices. These elected Officers will be eligible for office
on a two-year basis.
6. Committee
The Committee shall consist of the Officers and six other members, all of whom
shall retire annually, but be eligible for re-election at the AGM. The Committee
shall have the power to co-opt. Six members shall form a quorum.
7. Meetings
An Ordinary Meeting shall be as arranged by the Committee.
An Annual General Meeting (AGM) shall be held every year not less than eleven
and not more than thirteen months after the previous AGM.
The Committee shall meet as agreed by members. There will be no Committee
Meeting held in January.
8. Accounts
Accounts shall be kept by the Treasurer of all income and expenditure and, after
audit, be presented to the members at the AGM.
9. Financial Year
The financial year shall be from 1st December to 30th November.
10. Amendments To Rules
The rules of the Association can only be amended at the AGM or at an Extra
Ordinary Meeting called for this purpose by a minimum of ten members, but only
if notice of the proposed amendments be given not less than fourteen days before
the meeting.
11. Visitors
Non-members shall be subject to an entrance fee to be determined by the Committee.
12. Honorary Life Members
The Committee may, at its absolute discretion appoint Honorary Life Member
